Communities and Local Government (CLG) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) have jointly commissioned a short, focused review on the local government innovation landscape.
A key part of this review will be going out to the front line to hear directly from practitioners about their experience of innovation. To that end, they would like to invite you to nominate a handful of areas which they could go and visit.
The visit will involve a series of interviews over two days, and the provisional dates that we have set aside for this are 5-6 August and 10-11 August. Attending the visits will be a representative from ISOS Partnership (the consultancy commissioned to lead the review) and a representative from CLG and/or BIS.
During these visits, they would seek to interview a selection of front line practitioners across a range of services. Interviews will last approximately 60 minutes, and can be done in parallel or in small groups, no preparation is necessary and the content gathered from interviews will be made anonymous. They are seeking to understand the real picture of innovation ‘on the ground’ in local areas. It would be extremely helpful if they could perhaps be based out of an office at the Local Authority if possible to minimise travelling time to get to interviews but if this is not possible then they will schedule travel time between interviews.
