The ‘Practitoners’ Training’ will equip you to go out and use the Cost Calculator if you:

Require evidence to support the case for your improvement projects.

Are already familiar with some of the concepts of Activity Based Costing but need hands on exposure and practice.
Need cost information to support your channel migration strategies.
Want to identify where waste is occurring in your processes.

These sessions include detailed hands on sessions with the Cost Calculator. These will typically be given to Business Analyst or Project Managers who are about to embark on a service improvement project and would like to use the service cost calculator to quantify the improvement in financial terms.

The ‘practitioners’ training” will take you through the background and application of the approach including establishing a project team and executing a project, good practice examples from other Local authority projects, benefits realisations and some of the potential pitfalls. A case study will be used to identify how the ABC method can be used alongside other improvement tools such as process mapping and service metrics. More importantly you will spend time using the service cost calculator to change from the ‘before’ picture to the ‘after’ picture.

Training is highly interactive and delegates are requested to bring a laptop to gain full benefit.
