Many authorities have invested significantly in their front office
capability to the point where service delivery through these new delivery channels can be business critical.
Extreme weather events, floods, fires, power outages – all can cause major business disruption and, in a worst case scenario, cause the delivery of services to fail completely.
There are a number of diverse interfaces with customers in this multi-channel age – expectations from customers are for ever more reliable access at times and places to suit their needs.
With customer services in the frontline it is important that there is a clear understanding of the business critical systems that must be available to staff and citizens.
This Toolkit brings together good practice in BCM in the form of a repository of tools, case studies and guidance for Local Government customer services managers to draw upon.
The Toolkit aims to be applicable to all organisations, regardless of size or industry sector, and are intended for use by business continuity management practitioners, risk managers auditors and regulators.
