The Executive Board is the main steering and decision making board for NWeGG. It is sub regionally representative with a strong leading senior officer as chair.
Janet Callender, Chief Executive of Tameside MBC, became NWeGG Chair in 2005 after Steve Gallagher, Chief Executive of Knowsley MBC, retired. At the time all NW Councils were asked if they wished to be considered for NWeGG Chair and between those who put their names forward, Janet was agreed as Chair.
It has professional accountancy representation from the accountable body and includes the programme manager.
Its main role is to govern the activities of NWeGG in such a manner that the vision is fulfilled and the activities within the programme fulfilled.
The Executive Board is responsible for making decisions with regards NWeGG's expenditure.
